The 111-year-old Birmingham Music Club will open its 2016 season at the newly-restored, 102-year-old Lyric Theatre on Feb. 14, with a recital by pianist Drew Mays, the Birmingham ophthalmologist and 2007 first prize winner in the Van Cliburn Amateur competition.
Although the Lyric hasn’t yet announced its opening events, the Birmingham Music Club will open sales for its 2016 season on Saturday, Nov. 14, through its web site and the Samford University box office. Two events are planned:
Feb. 14, 2:30 p.m. “Drew Mays: Love at the Lyric.” Lyric Theatre, 1800 Third Ave. North. $25 in advance, $30 at the door; children and students, $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
